All kinds of things are possible:

  * group numbers (IA, IIA, etc)
  * how sizes vary
  * how ionization energies vary
  * how electron affinities vary
  * electron configurations
  * preferred charges
  * some type of label or color to denote metals/non-metals/metalloids

I could go on an on.   I would ask you not write on the back of the 
periodic table.
