On Wednesday you will be doing the first of two titration labs. These
labs are different from prior labs in the following way.

1. They will be conducted individually (each person gets their own buret)

2. There will be an accuracy component to the grading.

Your work tomorrow will directly affect the accuracy of the results next
week -- so you have to make sure you are doing things correctly. Please
review the procedures for using a buret
<http://cla.mercer.edu/www/mu-cla/chemistry/general-lab/upload/Using-a-buret.pdf>.
All of your buret readings to be to the hundredth of a ml (0.01).
Remember that in this experiment the BASE goes in the buret and you will
titrating the acid in the erlenmeyer flask. Remember -- only use the
NaOH that you prepared. You NaOH and your partners NaOH will have
different concentrations and you have to use the same one each time to
have any chance of getting accurate results.

Every student should do SIX titrations in lab tomorrow. One titration
will be done quickly to establish roughly how much sodium hydroxide is
required to neutralize the acid and then you will do FIVE good
titrations. This sounds like a lot, but well prepared students have
finished this lab in under 90 minutes.

Please prepare your lab notebooks so that you have places to record data
for six titrations.
