Hi chemists:

 

Once again the student ACS group is selling lab notebooks and safety
glasses. The ACS officers are still figuring out their collective
availability for next week to sell lab notebooks and safety glasses
during the first week of instructional labs. Since I have heard that the
bookstore is currently out of glasses, I wanted to go ahead and let you
know that I will have these items in my office (GSC 426) if any of your
students need/want them now and want to stop by. I am generally
available unless I am in class, but will make a point to be in my office
today 1-4:30pm and tomorrow 3-4:30pm if you want to go ahead and let
your students know. I am appending a message you can send to your
students if you want. We decided it was best not to have the students
try to come to classes this year to tell about the club and the
fundraiser in order to minimize extra people in the classrooms.

 

I’ll be in touch with the sale schedule for next week as soon as I know
it for you to share with your students as well.

 

Please share the below with your students, if you will. I will also post
it in the “CHM 111 LAB” course in Canvas as an announcement for the gen
chem students to see.

The ACS student chemistry club is selling lab notebooks and safety
glasses approved for use in Mercer chemistry labs. The times and
location that the items will be available for sale during next week are
as yet TBD, though we will share the information as soon as the schedule
is finalized.

They are for sale today and tomorrow:

Thursday 1-4:30pm in GSC 426 (Dr. Keene’s office)

Friday 9-11am in GSC 235 (past the bathrooms on the 2nd floor, on the left)

Friday 3-4:30pm in GSC 426 (Dr. Keene’s office)

Lab notebooks (duplicate, numbered, carbonless pages) = $20.

Safety glasses = $10.

We can accept cash, check, or card.
