The Sapling homework for Chapter 1 is now available.  If you have never
used Sapling, I encourage you to watch the video and do the practice
assignment so you will know how to enter things properly into Sapling.

I also turned on what are called "learning curve" assignments to help
you understand where you may need some more practice.  Once you get
enough "target points" you pass a learning curve assignment.

Finally -- the Sapling homework assignments are graded based on the
number of problems you get correct -- but I have given you unlimited
opportunities.   However, once the due date passes, you will not be
allowed to re-work problems for credit -- so make sure you get
everything done before the due date.

If you get stuck on a problem let Sapling show you the solution and then
when you re-try the problem you should have a better chance of solving
it.  It is worth noting here that generally the numbers in the problems
change -- so the same answer oftentimes wont work -- but if you solution
methodology is correct you should get the right answer.  If after a few
attempts you still can't get it, then it's time to get some help from
the ARC, Daniel, or Me.
