Class - I went to the lab on Sunday and made a pre-lab video for the
Synthesis of Alum lab that you are doing this week and next week.
After I made my videos, but prior to editing, I found out that Dr.
Hugdahl had done the same thing. I got so tied up with answering
e-mails yesterday that I did not have time to edit my video and decided
to use his instead. I have placed it on our class CANVAS page in the
MODULES section (the same place where I made the video on how to graph
in Excel).
PLEASE preview this entire video before coming to class as it will serve
as our "pre-lab" lecture. As you prepare your lab notebooks think
carefully through why you are doing each step and correlate that to what
Dr. Hugdahl is doing in the video. The only change I would make to
Dr. Hugdahl's comments is that when you handle the acids and bases you
should be wearing gloves - and as soon as you are done handling them the
gloves should come off and go in the trash.
