Students often ask how they should study for my class. Here are my
recommendations.

 1.

Read a section of the book that is relevant to the topic either just
discussed in lecture or that is coming up in lecture.

 2.

At the end of each of these sections you will generally find a
worked example problem. Make sure you understand how the problem is
done and then try the exercise problem that immediately follows the
    example problem in the chapter.

 3.

Once you have completed the example problem move to the end of
chapter problems. The initial end of chapter problems are segmented
categorically to match up with the chapter sections. Try the end of
chapter problems that match up with the section you just read.

Repeat this three step process for all of the relevant chapter sections
THEN...

 4.

Attempt the problems I assign from Burdge from the "Additional
Problems" section following the end of chapter problems. Some of
these problems will require you to apply your knowledge more deeply
    than the earlier problems.

 5.

    Attempt MY additional problems.
