[CHM 112] Lab Notebook Prep

For lab this week we are doing the Gaseous Equilibrium Lab. There are 
two things shown in the video and described in the procedures that you 
are not required to do.

1. You will not have to build the gas generator and collect the gas.  
Each lab group will be given a blank and a spec tube containing a 
mixture of NO2 and N2O4.

2. You will not have to do the timing study -- where you record the 
absorbance as a function of time.

As such you will not need to include the description of these things in 
your lab notebook procedures.


You will do exactly three experiments.

1. Measure the room temperature absorbance

2. Measure the absorbance below room temperature

3. Measure the absorbance above room temperature

It is a much safer (and simpler) lab than what we did in the past. The 
notebook prep is also simpler.  The writeup is, however, more 
difficult.  We will talk about that later this week
