You can calculate the magnitude and direction of the electric at any
point in space resulting from the proximity to a point charge.

For example, if you had a charge $q$ at (1,0), the magnitude felt at
(3,0) would be

$E = \frac{1}{4 \pi \epsilon_0}\frac{q}{r^2}=\frac{1}{4 \pi
\epsilon_0}\frac{q}{(3-1)^2}$

Since $q$ is positive the direction of the field would be along the
positive $x$-axis. In this case of multiple charge you would simply
have to vectorially add the individual fields.
