I have gotten several questions day related to how to calculate the
T-Test confidence interval. Let me direct you first to two web pages.
On the first of these I show you explicitly how to calculate the
confidence interval by hand.
http://theochem.mercer.edu/chm112/ttable/ttest/
Because this page requires a different "t" factor based on the number of
samples and the confidence interval of interest, I designed a web page
years ago that would calculate the t-test coefficients.
http://theochem.mercer.edu/chm112/ttable/
Once you have that straightened out in your heads, you can proceed to
use your calculators to do this with much less effort.
For the TI-83 and TI-84 you will find this information in chapter 13 of
the respective Guidebooks I placed online in the REFERENCE section of
the class webpage. You might have to look back in chapter 12 to see how
to set up the LISTS for the statistical calculation.
