The reason I mentioned to Grant subtracting the top corner from the 
bottom left corner was a particular solution to the problem I wrote on 
the board in my office.  Look at the picture below...

The once you reported T you could determine the error in T by 
subtracting the lower bound by the upper bound and dividing by two.
