Students -- several of you have asked me about accessing the computer
science resources from outside of the CS building. There is a guide on
the computer science website
http://blackhawk.cs.mercer.edu/courses/StudentGuide.doc
For those of you with PC's, you will see how to configure a program
called NetDrive that will allow you to access your Z-Drive from off
campus. For the rest of you (Linux and Mac) you can use a program
called FileZilla. You should be able to use the same IP address and
port number as described in the document.
Now, with NetDrive you can technically "edit files" just like you were
using drive Z in the computer science building. For the FileZilla
option you will have to download the files to your local computer, edit
them, and put them back on the Z drive.
Let me know what problems you run into.
