As I mentioned in class the other day, during the evenings after 10 pm
and on the weekends the computer labs (including lab 200) are doing
their UNIX authentication using zeus (the head node of the parallel
computing cluster). Here is what you need to do to get the machines to
authenticate off of Blackhawk (the compscience domain).

1. While the machine is doing its initial boot you need to to select
CentOS (the first option on the list of opearting systems).

2. The machine will then start to boot into linux and you will see a
blue bar start to be drawn across the bottom of the screen from left to
right. When you see this start, hit the Escape key.

3. Hitting Escape should bring you back to a text display that shows you
all of the drivers and linux kernel modules loading. Early in this
sequence you will see the following message come on the screen:

************************************************************
* This system is going to boot into the Olympus Parallel *
* Computing Cluster domain. If you want to boot into *
* the Computer Science domain, hit any key. *
************************************************************

This is part of a script I wrote years ago that changes a lot of things
under the hood to change the authentication system and user file systems
that get mounted. *You have about three seconds to hit any key. * Once
you do that you should be brought to a normal login screen where your
cobra login and password should work.

Let me know if you have any problems.
