Students -- the time is finally here. The old server
gitlab.cs.mercer.edu will be GOING AWAY in the next few months. Jesse
will be transitioning to an upgraded server with more capabilities in
the next few days. We are still waiting to get the name and IP address
for the new server.
Once the new server is active the old server will only be accessible
from within the CS building. Jesse and I intend to leave the old system
active until after the beginning of the fall semester, but I cannot tell
you how long into the fall semester it will be active. We are leaving
the system active so that those that want to move repositories from the
old server to the new server can do that -- but this will have to be
done from within the CS building.
I STRONGLY encourage you to go ahead and clone your repositories now and
back them up as we have no mechanism to move the entire server contents
from the old server to the new server -- you are responsible for
maintaining your repository. I also can provide you with instructions
on how to mirror your repositories on github.
Let me know if you have questions.
