Class -- we have some students that are already having to self-isolate
due to COVID concerns. Based on conversations with Jesse the
department is not in a position to open up a system with an external IP
address just for the graphics class. Also, in the past when I tried to
let students use cobra for graphics it ended badly. For that reason,
at this point in time my only option for those of you that are self
isolating is to either learn how to do it on Windows or your Mac (which
can be done, but you're on your own) or you can try my Ubuntu on a Stick
method where you build a linux distribution on a flash drive.
Just so you know, in the past I have had students use Windows and Mac --
but in the end they all migrated back to the linux environment for their
development work. I really recommend you try it.
If you need to borrow my installation flash drive, let me know.
