Those who stuck around for class on Wednesday voted for no class on Friday.

As I desribed to those class, the final will be broken into two
sections.  One section of the final will focus on your ability to
compare and contrast the various techniques that you have learned about
this semester and your ability to implement numerical algorithms.

The second part of the exam will focus more on the material from
chapters 7, 8, and 10.   You can expect to have to do some regression,
some iterative matrix work, and calculate varius norms.  As I mentioned
in class, I can't ask you to take a lot of partial derivatives for the
work related to nonlinear systems and nonlinear optimization, but I
could provide you with derivatives or ask you about how the matrices
should be built.

I will provide a cover sheet with ALL of the Newton-Cotes equations,
Gaussian Quadrature equations, and the K's and update expression for the
Runge-Kutta method.

That's about all I can tell you... but let me know if you have questions
related to HW8 that is due tomorrow.
