I resolved the shader issue on the GSC 405 systems a few minutes ago -- 
nasty issue with old/new libraries and patched drivers. I've still got 
some testing to do to make code run "anywhere", but we should have a 
place to work on code.   I will explain it all on Monday -- so plan on 
meeting in GSC 405 on Monday to start your deep dive into shader 
programming.
