I just wanted to remind all of you that we will be having a MIDTERM exam
on Tuesday.  Please make sure that you know how to use the gfortran and
gcc compilers to build objects and executables. No -- I will not ask you
to remember specific optimization flags.   Also review the code
optimization techniques handout that I gave you weeks ago.

Also, I spent a couple of days of my break building "reasonably"
fault-tolerant versions of the serial direct and iterative linear
solvers for you.  I have not yet updated the repo, but will notify you
once that is done.   I will definitely have that ready for you, as well
as a handout, after your test tomorrow.  Please use these as your
starting points for the parallel versions of dls and ils.
