Look at the following plot from hammer -- using a 4000x4000 matrix and 
up to 48 threads.

Remember -- Hammer has 24 cores -- but then uses 2 threads per core to 
get 48 processors.  Based on the result and fit, can you tell where 
accessing the memory starts to become an issue?
