So I just went through the linear solver exercise and it is working
perfectly. When I was doing the demon in class today I was running with
-DSPARSE while also doing -DACCURACY_TEST -- those don't go together.
As a side note, the spase matrices I am buiding have a band size of 11
-- there are 5 upper diagonals and 5 lower diagonals. Many would not
consider that sparse. As such you will most likely find that the
iterative solvers fail on these.
Now - in truth many partial differential equation solvers will build
large linear systems with the matrix only having 1 superdiagonal and 1
subdiagonal. If you are feeling adventurous and want to see what
happens in such a case, modify my subroutine that builds the matrices so
in the sparse case there is only a super and sub diagonal (and a
diagonal of course).
