[CHM 112] Question About Quiz

Aluminum Chloride (AlCl3) is a salt. It ionizes via the following 
chemical equation

\documentclass{article} \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc} \usepackage{mhchem} 
\pagestyle{empty} \begin{document} \ce{AlCl3 -> Al^{3+} + 3Cl^-} 
\end{document}

Since there are 4 "things" on the right, the van't Hoff "i" equals 4.
