Good morning!  Can you believe class starts next week (I am in denial...)

Here are some things you can start to do to prepare for the first day of
class...

*The Book: *You WILL need to have a copy of the text for this class.   I
will be assigning homework problems from it and it is really important
that you get the correct edition (and when I mean the correct edition I
mean the corrent 10th edition sold in the United States) -- not the
international edition.  The homework problems are different across the
different editions.

The good news is that this is a highly revered text among computer
scientists, engineers, and mathematicians - I think I used the first or
second edition when I was in school.  The authors have rotated in and
out -- but the text has aged well and incorporated new ideas and
techniques over the years.  Because it is so widely used you may be able
to find a copy of the book on the used book market - but again, make
sure it is the 10th edition and not the international edition. Please
don't wait too long on this -- you will get your first homework
assignment the first day of class.

*Cobra Account*:  all of your code will be tested on the Computer
Science departmental unix system named cobra.  You will need an accout
if you do not have one.  Please see Mr. Jesse Sowell on the second floor
of Willet to get an account.

*GitLab Access: * Your larger projects (there will be two) will need to
be checked into the departmental GitLab server, anvil.cs.mercer.edu.  I
will provide more information about this later, but if you do not have
an anvil account Jesse can help you with this too.

Let me know if you have any questions.
