[CHM 115] Final Exam

Yes.

This test will be approximately 40% multiple choice and 60% problems.  
Some of the multiple choice may require you to do short calculations.

So on this problem you had a precipitate of Ca(OH)_2 with Ca2+ and OH- 
in solution.   When you added the metal ion it complexed with the OH in 
solution, drew it all out, and even drew up the precipitate (as 
indicated in the problem).  Therefore the OH- concentration went down 
and the pH decreased.
