[CSC 335] Getting Octave to Work on Cobra

Thanks to Steve and Thomas for trying my solution on cobra to fix 
Octave.   I am attaching the message I sent to them that includes the 
initial error they saw and the method I proposed to resolve the issue.

If you are using the bash shell, then try adding the following command 
to the end of your .bashrc or .bach_profile

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib64:/usr/lib64/atlas:/usr/lib64/mpich2/lib


after you make this change, log out of cobra, log back in, and then try 
to run octave.  Please let me know what happens.
