Students -- I know we still have 18 days before class starts, but I want
to alert you to the following. The book we will be using for CSC/MAT
335 is *"Numerical Analysis" 10th ed, by Burden et. al.* You will be
using this book to look at samples of code and algorithms; I will be
also assigning homework problems from the book. This is a very well
respected text and you will find MANY options on third party reseller
sites.
This edition has been out for at least three years, so you should have
no problem finding used copies -- but PLEASE make sure that you are
getting the US (not foreign) version of the text as the problem numbers
and content vary in the foreign editions. I will be assigning problems
out of the version of the text sold in the Mercer bookstore -- so check
that ISBN if you want to purchase from someone other than the Mercer
Bookstore.
Number Crunching time is almost here! The first homework set will be
passed out the first day of class.
E-mail me if you have any questions.
