In Section 3.3 problem 18b asks you to use the derivative of the
interpolating polynomial. While you could technically derive the
divided-difference polynomial using the F values and then take a
derivative of that polynomial to come up with an equation for the
instantaneous speed, I am perfectly fine with you using a central or
forward difference method from chapter 4 to approximate the speed at the
given point.
