Alright -- I know several of you still need to use the batch queues to
finish your midterm. About an hour ago there was one user that was
effectively blocking anyone else from accessing the queues until
sometime Monday afternoon. That person dequed several of their jobs,
but still has many jobs in a holding state -- so I am assuming that they
will be queued later today.
Because the Canvas assignment for tomorrow requires the use of hammer, I
am going to reschedule the assignment for later in the week. You can
start the assignment if you want -- but since it requires hammer the
likelihood of your jobs completing in a timely fashion (while competing
for the queus) is low.
Therefore, we will not have class tomorrow but I will be in the
classroom if you have questions. You can use that time to (1) complete
your midterm and (2) start on the assignment that will be due later in
the week (initial Pthreads programming), but you do not have to come to
Godsey to do it. The midterm is due to me by 11:15 on *WEDNESDAY*. At
11 am on Wednesday I will administratively CLEAR the batch queues on
hammer and kill/dequeue any jobs present so that we can all use the
queues for completing the class assignments related to Pthreads and OpenMP.
That is the last extension I can give at this point.
